Tournament History

Everglades Redfish Tournament

On March 27th 2004 I competed in the Redfish tour open division in Everglades city. I fished with both of my parents in this one day event. The object is to catch the two heaviest redfish between 18 and 26.5 inches and bring them back to the dock alive in order to release them after being weighed. There were twenty nine other teams competing against us, never having fished this area before I was excited about the opportunity. Pat (mother) caught our first redfish at 1:45PM weighing 2 lbs over the next thirty minutes we landed two more fish and headed back to the dock. Weigh in was from 2:00PM-4:00PM, arriving back at the dock around 2:45PM we weighed our two fish. The two fish totaled 9.16 lbs which was good enough to take 5th place and a check worth $400.
